Project Scope

As part of the Osprey DCS team, I contributed to integration and deployment of modular Power Supply Controller systems for the ALS-U project at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

Implementation

I designed and deployed EPICS IOCs for precise accelerator-magnet power regulation and developed Phoebus interfaces for state, interlocks, setpoints, and diagnostics. Standardized IOC and GUI patterns improved consistency, maintainability, and real-time visibility across deployments.

Supporting Infrastructure

The work also included a custom EPICS IOC and Phoebus interface for Tripp Lite PDUs, enabling rack-level monitoring, remote outlet control, and controlled power cycling during integration and service.

ENGINEERING INSIGHT

Standard control contracts make specialized power hardware easier to commission, diagnose, and reuse across facilities.
