The Need
Insertion-device setup involves multiple devices whose commanded gaps must be coordinated with machine conditions and operating plans. Managing them individually increases setup time and creates opportunities for inconsistent configuration.
The Application
I developed a centralized control tool that allowed operators to view and command nominal gap settings across the insertion-device population from one interface. The application used existing controls interfaces while presenting the multi-device operation as one deliberate workflow.
Impact
Centralized configuration reduced repetitive interaction, simplified coordinated changes, and improved consistency during machine setup.
